Top 5 2008 Non-Family Events That Rocked Todd’s World

Posted by tdepp on December 30, 2008

2008 was a pretty cool year for Todd Epp.

First of all, I got to see two of my man crushes–Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen.  I suppose the edge has to go to the Prez-elect over the Boss, but most any other year the Boss would have prevailed.

So, here are Todd’s Top Five 2008 Non-Family Events That Rocked My World:

1.  Met Senator (now President-elect) Barack Obama in Sioux Falls.  He gave me a hug and made my wife Donna cry.  (June 2008)

2.  Saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band perform live with one of my best friends, Barry Foster, at the Xcel Center in St. Paul, MN.  Bruuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccceeeeeeee!  (March 2008)

3.  Stood in the hot sun in front of the Mitchell Corn Palace to hear Barack Obama speak.  He gave his wonderful, “Fired up/ready to go” speech.  (June 2008)

4.  Attended the Wellstone advanced campaign management school in Billings, MT. Helped implement a plan that got Pam Merchant elected in Brookings that we devised there.  (February 2008)DSC04069_edited.jpg

5.  Tried a week long federal drug conspiracy case to a jury and then got my client a new trial.  (May/June and September 2008).

Honorable Mention:  Attended the S.D. Democratic State Convention in Oacoma as a delegate from Lincoln County.

Honorable Mention: Attended the Second Annual Mt. Blogmore/Take It Outside Pheasant Hunt at Mary Jo and Nic Nemec’s farm near Holabird, SD.  (November 2008).

2008 will be hard to top!
